We’ve used both ticketing platforms and venue management programs, from the major players, in our past lives as venue managers.
Hard to get them to talk to each other. Difficult to use. A bit of a disappointment really. But the major shock came when they start charging ridiculous amounts for installation, monthly service fees, fees to fix problems, fees for training, upgrades and on top still add a booking fee.
Well, we did our homework, called it a business plan and came to a conclusion – we don’t need to charge any pesky on-costs at all, just a booking fee.
So, the patron pays. From 50c to a maximum of $3.00 per ticket. That’s it.
Venues of all sizes we’ve run it past so far have given us a standing ovation, which we think is well deserved.
